The Commonwealth scholarship goals at supporting resourceful and highly motivated candidates to gain the knowledge and specific skills required for maintainable development and also directed at those who could not have otherwise have the any funds to study in the UK.

Eligibility Criteria of Commonwealth Split-Site Scholarships 2024

If you want to be eligible for the 2024 Commonwealth Split-Site Scholarships, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Applicant be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, or be a British Protected Person.
  2. Applicant be residing permanently in an eligible Commonwealth country.
  3. Applicant be a registered PhD candidate at a university in a Commonwealth eligible country by the time of scholarship confirmation (September, 2024).
  4. Applicant be sure that an institutional or departmental link exists between your home university and the proposed UK university.
  5. Applicant must be available to start academic studies in the UK by the commencement of the UK academic year in September, 2024.
  6. Applicants are to provide all supporting documents in the required formats.
  7. By September 2024, hold a first degree of at least upper second class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).
  8. Be unable to afford studies in the UK without the scholarship.

Scholarship Benefits
  1. Full tuition will be covered.
  2. The scholars will receive a monthly stipend of £1,347.
  3. In case the scholar’s university is in the London Metropolitan area, the monthly stipend will be  £1,652.
  4. A return air ticket will be provided.
  5. A study travel grant will be provided.
  6. Warm clothing allowance will be given (Where Applicable).
  7. For widowed, divorced, or single parents, the first child allowance of £576.61, and the second and third child allowance of £143 per month will be given.

Documents Required
  1. Copy of Passport or national ID that shows a clear picture and complete personal details.
  2. Complete prior educational transcripts.
  3. Supporting statement of the supervisor from your home country.
  4. Supporting statement of the supervisor from UK’s university.
  5. A reference letter from another individual.
Application Procedure
  1. The applicant must apply to a university that has a funding agreement with the CSC. The list of part-funding universities   is given on site.
  2. Applicants are to apply directly to the CSC using the CSC’s online application system.
  3. The CSC will not accept any applications that are not done via the online application system.
