The University of Gothenburg Axel Adler Scholarships

The university of Gothenburg Axel Adler Scholarships are open now. The Axel Adler Scholarship is the University of Gothenburg’s core scholarship programme for fee paying students pursuing qualified Master’s programmes at the University.

Any full-time, Masters  programmes offered at the University as well as the Bachelor’s programme (only Software Engineering, International Relations and Business and Economics)

  • Number of Scholarships:

There is one scholarship presented for each programme and 4 for Master’s programmes within the Fine, Applied and Performing Arts and programmes in Music and Performance.

There are also two Axel Adler scholarship for Sustainability 2024  for students studying a sustainability focused study programme.

Residents from outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland

Scholarship value

Scholarships offer the tuition fee of the programme you are admitted to. It is a tuition fee waiver only; no extra financial support for living expenditures or travel grants are provided.

Eligibility Criteria of University of Gothenburg Axel Adler Scholarships

If you want to qualify for scholarship then you must fulfill the following criteria:

  1. You are required to pay tuition in Sweden.
  2. You need to apply for an international campus-based programme at the University of Gothenburg, as your first priority.
  3. You have applied and been admitted to a full-time Master programme or Bachelor programme (for Bachelor Programme only Software Engineering, International Relations and Business and Economics) at the University of Gothenburg.
  4. You can only be eligible for the scholarship for the programme that is your first priority at the University of Gothenburg on 15 January 2024 in the international admission round at
  5. You have submitted your application for studies by 15 January 2024 and paid the application fee and documented your eligibility for studies by 1 February 2024 through

Application Procedure

If you want to be considered for the scholarships, you must have applied for a Master’s Programme via university by 15 January 2024. Only candidates with a University of Gothenburg programme as their first choice are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Eligible students will receive an email with application submission instructions around 8 February 2024.


The last date of scholarship is 15 Jan/mid-Feb 2024 (annual).
